
Babar Azam has been appointed captain of the national Test cricket team. Babar Azam has now become the captain of the Pakistan cricket team for all three formats.
Babar Azam’s first assignment as Test captain will be to lead Pakistan in a two-Test series against New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship. The Test series between the two countries will start on December 26.

Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani approved the new appointment after meeting Azhar Ali on Tuesday evening. In the meeting, Ehsan Mani thanked Azhar Ali for his services as captain. He also contacted Babar Azam and congratulated him on his appointment.
Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani said that Azhar Ali has knowledge of cricket and he is a specialist top order batsman, Azhar Ali still has a lot of cricket left and he is sure that Pakistan can benefit a lot from his experience.

Ehsan Mani said that the future captain of Babar Azam was identified at an early age. For his development, he was appointed as the captain of Whiteball Cricket last year and continued his performances and leadership. Based on his abilities, he proved that he was ready to take on additional responsibilities as captain.
