National High Performance Center batting coach Mohammad Yousuf explained the reason for the consistent performance of all-rounder Faheem Ashraf in batting.
“After the series against England last year, Faheem Ashraf came to us at the National High Performance Center and we took a closer look at his playing technique,” said Mohammad Yousuf.
He said Faheem Ashraf was facing the same difficulties that need to be addressed, including balance, shifting weights to play shots and waiting for the ball to be thrown.
Mohammad Yousuf said that Faheem Ashraf used to come forward very early to play shots and when the ball was thrown, it was difficult for him to adjust himself to play and then go back and he would stop.

“We worked with Faheem Ashraf on these three things, we worked on him waiting for the ball to be thrown and then moving forward to play shots accordingly,” he said.
Mohammad Yousuf says that he also explained to Faheem Ashraf about the balance of standing and shifting weight to play outside, the credit for the improvement in batting and continuity goes to Faheem Ashraf, Faheem Ashraf worked hard. They acted on what they were told, they succeeded and the team is benefiting.
Mohammad Yousuf said that Faheem Ashraf, after working at the National High Performance Center, performed well during the Test series in New Zealand and also in the home series against South Africa.
