According to sources, the PCB has decided to hand over the leadership of the Test team to Babar Azam after captaining the ODI and T20 teams.

Sources said that Babar Azam has agreed to lead the national Test team. After getting the leadership, Babar Azam will lead the national team in all three formats till the World Cup.

Top PCB officials have also assured Babar Azam of their full support. In the new selection committee, Babar Azam’s consultation as captain will be given importance.

The captaincy of the national Test team will be announced after the approval of the chairman PCB. The issue of captaincy will be discussed in tomorrow’s meeting of the PCB governing board.

Sources said that in case Babar Azam is given the captaincy, Muhammad Rizwan will be the vice-captain.

It should be noted that the captain of the national team Babar Azam has won another honor by completing 1000 runs in T20 International matches this year. He has become the first Pakistani player to score 1000 runs for 2 consecutive years.
